Gas Field Specialists, Inc. is seeking a Heavy Diesel Mechanic who is responsible for preventative maintenance, diagnosis, repairs, reconditioning and overhaul of heavy diesel equipment. Heavy equipment may include, but is not limited to, front-end loaders, dozers, graders, rollers, and/or excavators.

Specific Educational/Vocational Requirements:
​

High School Diploma or GED with graduation from an accredited technical school in diesel engine or earthmoving repair preferred.

Four years in heavy equipment, engine or electric power generation system repair including diesel mechanic experience.

Responsibilities:
​

Performs general and detailed repair of all heavy equipment, engines and components.

Diagnoses and troubleshoots machine and engine malfunctions and failures.

Keeps knowledge up to date with developments in tooling, technologies and systems.

Uses safe working practices and follows all company safety requirements.

Maintains a clean and organized work area.
-
Performs maintenance activities on new and rebuilt/repaired equipment.

Makes recommendations as to repairs meeting warranty criteria.

Make parts replacement decisions assuring optimum economic reusability.

Performs duties as assigned.

Runs diagnostics using computer.

Respects coworkers.

Job Skills:
​
-
Knowledge of the methods and procedures used in servicing and repairing gasoline and diesel engines.

Knowledge of vehicle and equipment mechanics, including combustion engines and hydraulic and electrical systems and air brakes.

Knowledge of safety standards for motor vehicles and equipment.
-
Knowledge of State vehicle inspection standards.
-
Working knowledge of Oil and Gas Industry.
-
Basic Welding ability.
-
One (1) to two (2) years of experience using construction tools and equipment including air hammer, concrete saw, patent scaffolding, trench digging equipment, etc.

Ability to keep company proprietary information confidential.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite) and above average math skills.

Effective communication skills and the ability to work successfully with a wide variety of people at different levels within the organization.

Detail orientated with strong organizational skills.
